Current Projects

Current projects span the spectrum from personal to business. My personal blog eat.drink.craft. houses music reviews, creative writing, and San Diego event write-ups. On the business end, I write product copy for new items as they come in for a yoga apparel site and manage my father’s landscape design website.

Current Projects

  • – Web content rewrite and creation for, a web development company specializing in the logistics industry.
  • Show & Tell: a meetup for creative professionals – Started years ago, Show & Tell had been on an unannounced hiatus. Partnering up with organizers Susie & Abe, I’ve helped to organize the first meetup in nearly a year and created a questionnaire to feature local creatives.
  • eat.drink.craft. – My personal blog started as a restaurant and craft beer review site in 2011 while I traveled the U.S. Once I returned to San Diego, I expanded it to a craft, art, and food/craft beer roundup of sorts. Now, it features music reviews, some creative writing, and a weekly “What’s Happening?” art events roundup.
  • Imagine Monkey – This partnership started like any other web content job. Pleased with my work and the work of another writer, Christian established a partnership with us to provide content branding and writing for his clients.
  • Villains Records – Indie record labels need all the help they can get. As one of three main volunteers for the label — really, it’s more a collective than label — I write and update the biographies of all the bands, research and publish blog posts (which can include press releases, artist spotlights, and interviews), and maintain social media.

  • It’s Like This, Not That #2 – A poetic follow-up to the first ILTNT, issue #2 collects poems leading up to my 25th birthday. I attempt to describe the juxtaposition between being physically catatonic while my mind is whizzing with thoughts during severe depression.
  • It’s Like This, Not That #1 – The first issue of ILTNT is a whopping 40+ pages that alternate between my psychiatrist’s notes on our appointments and my diary entries during the same period. It explores how difficult getting help is when it’s the first time.

Past Projects

  • Creative Edge Music – Music blog
  • creativePAW – Copywriting for non-profit creative agency
  • Frettie Blog – Songwriting resources
  • Handmade Holiday – In anticipation for this music fest and holiday shopping event, Susie asked me to interview and write about the four bands participating in the fest.
  • Imagine Monkey – Web content and story branding, blog posts
  • INIPO – Video marketing agency
  • Modern Zen Garden – Japanese garden designer (and dad-extraordinaire) Kohei Owatari has run a successful custom landscape design business for twenty years. His old site is a travesty of 90s-style Javascript and awful fonts, but this new site is slick! I had the pleasure of creating the content for the site and continue to maintain it.
  • Sivana – Product descriptions for a yoga apparel/spirituality store. Snappy but informative copy at 500 characters or less!
